For crying out loud ladies whats so exploitative, bull or tricky about this! I am a strong, practicing Muslim and definitely all for modesty, but this is a pair of jeans we are talking about, not a mini skirt or a tube tops, but a clothing which fully covers the lower part of our bodies. These jeans are like a tool, it depends who gets it and who its being used. A conservative Muslim woman can get them and wear with a pretty dress or a long blouse, which will cover everything above the knee. This is appropriate yet fashionable. Now only the bottom part of the jeans being visible you may ask why bother with a brand name jeans if you cant even see the name, I agree, yet if this new brand catches the eye of young Muslim girls, I am all for it. Because the cold truth is that too many girls are taking off their hijabs and shortening their clothing only because its considered to be less fashionable in western society. So if this cheesy pair of jeans gets younger generations of our girls to realize that we too can be fashionable. I say why not.

We Muslims have no need to special design clothing, but modesty in dressing. The website of AQJ is terribly limited, has only Italian or English (not arabic??), has no pictures of how really the jeans look like in people or how convenient they are for praying. I think this product is mere bull** with only profit goal. Hey, want a comfortable pants for praying? Wear chinos or loose jeans, available anywhere, and problem solved.

It could easily be considered exploitative. It will be interesting to see how the "Fundamentalist" Imams view the concept. No doubt, some Fundamentalist Imams and lay Muslims will see it as an infiltration of Western ideology. On the other hand, most moderate Muslims will probably see it as harmless and perhaps even a good idea.

there is nothing in Islam that discourages moderity & fashion, the only requirement is modesty!! i often wear jeans to pray, sometimes alone with a long shirt or with a long jacket type covering

i don't see the need for Muslim women to dress as if they are peasants or arab villagers, many of us are modern and professional women who like to wear fashionable clothing while remaining modest ... i don't think it is exploitative at all!! in face, i'd love to see more companies coming out with modest clothing lines, not just for Muslim women but maybe also for conservative Christians and others that want to look nice but not put everything on display
