COEXIST Clothing = Ethical Apparel!

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

COEXIST Clothing = Ethical Apparel!COEXIST was founded behind the concept of the COEXIST design logo. Combining three Abrahamic monotheistic faith symbols to spell “coexist” suggests a lifestyle of creative conscience. COEXIST embraces life first. They design the possibilities of enjoying it together because we are all at the interface of what is and can be. They aim to expose the distraction of discrimination, while promoting the vitality found in “collective.” COEXIST expresses global beauty in all ways of life through the lens of fashion and design.

When it comes to marketing, Cheap Monday could certainly learn a lesson from COEXIST. Marketing requires intelligence and not vociferous imbecilic barking. If you want people to listen first put your brain in gear. COEXIST have a long-term, meaningful message for us all!

Cheap Monday Jeans & Clothes, Suicidal Marketing!

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

Cheap Monday Jeans & Clothes, Suicidal Marketing!Cheap Monday Jeans, the punk infused denim brand from Sweden, is gaining staggering attention and not just for its jeans. Just a few years ago Örjan Andersson was on his knees in his shed, hand printing his own shirts and jeans and in contrast just recently Cheap Monday Jeans were nominated in the category for “best jeans design” in Elle magazine. Impressive leap and well deserved recognition for the man’s artistry and craftsmanship.

So all’s rose in the Cheap Monday’s garden we’d naturally presume? Unfortunately not! For some bizarre reason the Cheap Monday’s marketing machine is overtly attempting to sabotage the brand’s success by instigating what can only be termed suicidal-marketing. The brand has opted to announce its satanic sympathies which is epitomised by the brand’s logo which depicts a skull with an inverted cross on its forehead.

“It is an active statement against Christianity,” Bjorn Atldax told The Associated Press. “I’m not a Satanist myself, but I have a great dislike for organized religion.” It appears Cheap Monday feel denimwear is a obvious medium for addressing the world’s religious and social concerns on the other hand perhaps Cheap Monday understand that reverse-marketing is a valuable tool for gleaning global recognition and if that’s the case perhaps someone should have told them that reserve-marketing requires the precision of a surgeon to succeed and not the ponderous predictable stomping of a twenty ton Swedasaurus!

Citizens of Humanity Jeans = altruistic panache!

Citizens of Humanity Jeans = altruistic panache!Citizens of Humanity, the jeans favoured by Jessica Simpson and list of other high-profile stars, is a venture by Jerome Dahan and Michael Glasser, the creators of Seven Jeans. Citizens of Humanity jeans as most fashion buyers probably know are the epitome of premium denim; an amazing fit, purist craftsmanship and a pinch of meaningful panache. Perhaps less well known is the fact that both Dahan and Glasser give a portion of all sales of the Citizens of Humanity jeans to International Conservation. Recently there’s been a growing and laudable trend amongst Fashion Designers to include a tangible altruistic dimension within their brand philosophy. This represents a significant shift of mentality in an industry more commonly known for its egocentric propensity. Hats off to Citizens of Humanity!

575 Denim + 575 Jeans = 100% Californication!

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

575 Denim + 575 Jeans = 100% Californication!575 Denim is Californication in the true sense of the word, Denim was never really californiarised until 575 Denim hit the scene. 575 Denim represents stereotypical California in every way: off-the-wall, uncompromising and just plain sexy! 575 Denim’s sexy credentials are further substantiated by the long list of star celebrities squeezing into the denim: Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz, Neve Campbell, Jeremy Piven, Rachel Bilson, Tara Reid, Felicity Huffman, Neve Campbell, Claire Kiem, Alyson Hannigan, Kerry Washington.

“Among a vast and never ending sea of blue, former Sacred Blue designer, Frank Mechaly, and former Sacred Blue Sales manager, Shaun Hurley, introduces a denim creation that is simply… The Perfection of the Jean.

Denim guru, Frank Mechaly, redefines the idea of couture “distressed with the introduction of his most recent creation, 575 Denim, a vintage inspired denim line poised to adorn the bodies of jean enthusiasts, fashionistas, rockers and style mavens from LA to New York to Paris and beyond.

Born in Marseille and raised in St. Tropez, native Frenchman, Frank Mechaly, is the founder and designer of 575 DENIM, one of the hottest jean companies in Los Angeles. Mechaly’s “jeanology” stretches back to the age of 15, where he worked a salesman in a vintage store in Marseille. His love for denim was obvious; as he was the first person to organize auctions for vintage jeans in France, and went on to own two vintage stores of his own. Out of his passion came his first denim company in the 90’s, known as Texola, which he then sold and started another denim line, Culture Couture, which he also sold in 2000. Mechaly knew his calling, and followed that all the way to the U.S. founding Sacred Blue, a division of Blue Cult. This gritty and raw line brought him closer to his vintage roots. After two years as the creative force behind one of the most sought after and visible sub brands in the world, Mechaly partnered with southern California native, Shaun Hurley, an executive member of the Sacred Blue sales team, whose talent and vision helped elevate the brand to its current global status.”
