French Connection Sunglasses Section:

Stephen Marks, founder of French Connection was born in Britain in 1947. He married twice, first with designer Nicole Farhi, and in 1989, he married Alisa Green, who was fashion editor of Elle. Marks' first love was tennis and he won at Junior Wimbledon. He then went to work for a coat manufacturer.

Having joined the Paris house of Louis Feraud and launched their Miss Feraud label, Stephen Marks was offered a directorship but declined it. He started his own work by buying sunglasses in Paris and selling to Selfridges in London. He became the "Sunglasses King".
