Lotta Stensson Top Section:

Lotta Stensson has fashion design in her blood. While other kids were outside playing, Lotta was insaide sewing and draping alongside her mother, a successful Swedish fashion designer. Later she continued learning her craft working in her grandmother's design studio in NYC. Her grandmother, Katja of Sweden, was Sweden's most prestigious and prolific designer and was the star of Saks Fifth Avenue's famous "Young Dimensions Department in the 1960s. A degree in fashion in NYC completed her education and after working as an assistant to Bettina Reidel, Lotta set off to make her own mark on the fashion industry.

Lotta has come a long way since the early days, when at the young age of 25 she created her first line from two sewing machines out of her tiny NYC apartment. In the year 2000 fashion editors from top magazines including Vogue, Elle and WWD voted Lotta Moet & Chandon’s upcoming designer for Fall 2000. The company sponsored her runway show with Seventh on Sixth in NYC and since then she has been a favorite of New York’s fashion crowd. Lotta now operates her multi million dollar business from Los Angeles California, with a flagship store in the trendy Melrose Heights District. Her designs are also sold at top stores around the world, including Bloomingdale’s, Intermix, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Fred Segal. Although living on the West Coast now, New York is never far from Lotta’s heart - the vitality, ethnic diversity and urban elegance of the city continue to shape her as an artist.

Since the very beginning Lotta has always been inspired by the fabrics, colors and embroideries of far away lands. She creates her own hand embroidered fabrics and then designs silhouettes that are sexy, feminine and easy to wear. Lotta is also known for being a forward thinking designer, the hippie chic clothes she started creating years ago recently sparked a worldwide trend. But Lotta is always moving forward and her new collections include tailored trousers, fitted blazers and cozy sweaters, all of which are selling out across the globe.

Lotta designs for the chic modern bohemian woman who is feminine and sexy, but also strong and hardworking. She is the type of woman who does not worry about following trends, preferring to dress each day according to her mood. She might wear Lotta’s new tailored pants with a Lotta embroidered halter from two seasons ago, accessorizing with vintage heels and street vendor earrings. This is how Lotta herself dresses and how she lives her life, her motto has always been "Do your own thing, be true to yourself and keep it real."

Lotta’s huge celebrity following continues to grow and now that she is based in Los Angeles fans like Jessica Simpson, Charlize Theron, and Cameron Diaz are able to drop by her sunny, island themed boutique.
