Paper Denim Clothes Section:
Paper Denim & Cloth was established in 1999, quickly becoming synonymous with fashion-forward denim styling. Paper Denim & Cloth uses premium American, Italian and Japanese ringspun denims, cotton knits and twills. Their lines are highly exclusive and each jean has an individual identification number.
Chris Gilbert’s love for denim began at early age. Throughout his childhood, he wore one of a kind jeans, designed by his father, which led to his fascination with denim design. He was also intrigued by breaking down a pair of jeans through natural wear and authentic handcrafting.
After attending college at the University of Virginia as a Business Administration major, Chris moved to Los Angeles to write and produce independent films. Shortly after his venture, Chris decided to follow his true passion, denim. In August of 2001, he became Co-Founder of Paper Denim & Cloth, spending his first two years of the company in the design and development department before moving into his current position of President.
In addition to overseeing Paper’s day to day operations in New York City, Chris is extremely involved in the design and production process. He is responsible for ultimately developing the direction of the denim line from conception to completion. As an avid collector of vintage denim and a true believer in authenticity, Chris has drawn inspiration from his own impressive collection of jeans.
Today at age 28, Chris continues to build and expand on Paper Denim & Cloth’s existing premium denim lines for men, women and children with the spring 2005 collection, and leads the brand to debut it’s most extensive and innovative denim line to date. The basic values and the principles of the brand he originated are consistent in each collection, creating timeless, vintage inspired denim and clothing.
When designing each seasonal collection, the Paper Denim focus remains on combining updated elements, exceptional product quality, and a denim purists' appreciation for authenticity and detail. One unique feature found in the women's collection is the use of a two-piece contour waistband that provides a significantly better fit in all the low-five and super low-five silhouettes. Paper Denim & Cloth also incorporates flat-pressed and selvedge side seams, signature needle back pockets and "j-stitch" details on the fly, as well as oversized belt loops and reinforced riveting.
Those fortunate enough to own a pair or two of Paper Denim & Cloth jeans will have found a line of denim inspired products that reflect a commitment to quality, style and unwavering appreciation for authenticity. Their jeans are a perfect fitting product, every piece handcrafted to perfection.
