Paul Smith loves to mix things up. Case in point: The British-born designer's business suits, which fuse classic European tailoring with bright, flower-decorated patterns. When a crash ended a pro cycling career, Smith turned to clothes and soon found a willing audience of men and women alike. The accidental designer has also written books on fashion and art, including 2001's You Can Find Inspiration in Everything, and several museums have showcased his skills, including London's Design Museum, which held a 25-year Smith retrospective—aptly entitled “True Brit.”
