Religion Autumn/Winter 05 Menswear- a fresh but subtle twist on classic vintage shapes with the usual plethora of unique themes to spice up the graphics. Still a step ahead of the crowd to keep the followers enthralled. Religion Autumn/Winter 05 Ladieswear- Those shapes just keep on coming, with special use of silks and blended fabrics to give flow and grace to the stark realism of the imagery. Then there`s the new denim range. And, finally, the excitement of the lingerie.

Religion has been around for 15 years and due to the make-up of its key personalities has been marketed on an international basis right from its conception and has developed as an underground worldwide phenomenon. Attention is focused on constant research and ongoing experimentation in order to build a collection that brings something new and totally original to the marketplace.

Religion’s strategy is that it wants to keep small enough to be 100% reactive to changes in the winds of fashion, but omnipresent enough to pick up a hint of a new trend emerging in some far-flung niche of the world, nurture and evolve it and then feed it to the discerning masses in Europe, USA, Japan and Australia.

The name was inspired by the fact that Religion is essentially a principal that is pursued with conscientious devotion, which is the mission of the team behind the label in capturing the zeitgeist and creating the right look at the right point in time. Religion still arouses passion and causes controversy; it controls and transforms lives and this is what we strive to achieve. Religion enjoys a cult-following, the name being used to direct followers to wear the threads and join this subversive sect!

Religion is all about Irreverence and Attitude. The clothes exude a care-free style in terms of cut with their asymmetric hem-lines and distressed and over-cooked washes. Their intricate and-worked graphics display a heady mix of Sex and Subversion: with signature macabre imagery with skulls and grim-reaper style scythes. This is all mixed with trademark Religious iconography.
